Dr. Neha Sharma

Research Scientist

Dr. Neha Sharma has a Ph.D. in Lifesciences from ICGEB, New Delhi with expertise in nucleic acid biology. She has vast experience in the field of RNA biology. She has extensively studied small non-coding RNAs, particularly miRNAs and their functional characterization in living systems thereby underpinning their mechanistic roles. She also has patented her work on artificial miRNA-based technology. Her work has been recognized through several first authored publications in peer-reviewed journals. Dr. Neha is the founding team member for a not-for-profit organization, Bioingene, an online platform for webinars and workshops across the world. She is actively involved in co-ordinating the online talks with speakers and performing live interview cum discussion sessions with the invited guests. She was working as a research associate at University of Western Sydney, Australia where she assisted in bulk soil sampling and high throughput nucleic acid extraction from cotton rhizospheres for metagenomics study before joining Karkinos foundation. Currently her research focuses on development and standardization of minimally invasive liquid biopsy techniques in cancer patients for early detection and disease monitoring.
